DOOMBEN: Agitate (R2 No. 4 Trainer Kelly Schweida) - Half the field are last start winners here but it is a deceptively weak race and up-and-comer Agitate looks to have it at his mercy. Won three of eight in his two-year-old season, all at this track and two over the distance against strong juvenile company. Won a trial here two weeks ago over 820m in good fashion, down in weight in his last five starts and has drawn ideally in gate two. Wins this very easily if he brings his juvenile form to gameday.
MORPHETTVILLE: Signoff (R6 No. 1 Trainer Darren Weir) - looks every which way the good thing of the day. The 4YO son of Epsom Derby hero Authorized won at Terang on debut over 1400m then repeated the dose at Geelong in a 1512m before a most unlucky 5th at C'field over 1800m. The fact that he can keep taking that next step is indicative of a quality, even a stakes horse for the future. He is in exactly the right stable to get there. Darren Weir horses travel so well, particularly when they cross over into SA.
