Bay Truffle (Kembla R4 No. 7) - is an unsually bred filly by Venice Beach who is an unraced Redoute's Choice son out of a half-sister to Northerly. Bay Truffle had the ears pricked - literally - for the last 300m of her trial at H'bury on Jun 16 which she won easily and very, very impressively indeed. Makes her debut in the ideal race, being that this is 1000m. She is fast, no doubt; let us all hope she can keep it going under race pressure. Has a benefical draw and a claim.

Fine Fettle (Morphettville R7 No. 9) - is a lightly-raced 6YO daughter of Blevic with just 5 starts under her belt. From those, she has managed a 1 win and three 2nds and take it as read, she was rather unlucky not to have got the chocs at Strathalbyn first-up for 88-weeks no less! Rule No. 7 of the Punters Lawbook says 'don't back horses second-up off long breaks' but perhaps this is one time to make an exception.
Imaging (Mildura Monday R3 No. 4) - From SWAN HILL (VIC) 8/6 - slow 6 Imaging (2nd 975m Mdn): broke with them and went back off a wide gate to settle last and three wide with cover. Came to the centre of the track but had to wait for a run to open up nearing the 200m. Charged at the line when clear but wanted to hang in sharply and kept having to be straightened up which cost him a win. Still a top run for his debut. Follow up.
- Scratched from a race at Bendigo on Thursday. Drawn one here. The Alfonso (Rosehill R4 No. 1) - has impressed in winning his last two starts, comes in extremely well at the weights here and should take plenty of beating once again.
Vain Queen (Flemington R7 No. 9) - bounced back to her best last start when an easy winner against her own sex, is 2 from 2 up the straight and despite this being a harder affair looks hard to beat. Dark Delight (Belmont R3 No. 4) - has been very consistent since resuming from a spell, should be ready to peak here and William Pike sticks. ROSEHILL: Inz'N'Out (Rosehill R1 No. 1) - Tuesday, course proper, 16m out, going good, 600m (with Dragon Lair) in 36.68, last 200m in 11.97.
BROADMEADOW: Express Power (Rosehill R3 No. 2) - Saturday, Pro Ride, 1000m (with Jimmy Says Yes) in 1:0.7.50, last 600m in 38.20. CAULFIELD: Dig A Pony (Flemington R3 No. 3) - Tuesday, steeple grass, going heavy, 1200m in 1:22.84, last 600m in 39.01. FLEMINGTON: Balaclava Lady (Flemington R8 No. 8) - Tuesday, Pro Ride, going good, 1000m in 1:06.40, last 400m in 24.51. *Randwick trackman is on leave. Sportsman's weekend winnersSUNSHINE COAST: Agitate (R2 No. 1 Trainer Kelly Schweida) - looked super in leading all the way four runs back in the Listed Mick Dittman, beating subsequent winner Havana over 1100m, but has found the wide gates and 1200m a bridge too far at his last three. Had no answer for the inform Architect last time at Eagle Farm but still clung on to second spot and the big kicker for tomorrow is that he finally drops back to 1000m. Likely to be two lengths in front on settling and over this shorter trip they won’t catch him.
FLEMINGTON:Jimando (R6 No. 8 Trainer Tony McEvoy) - got lost out the back when resuming at Morphettville last time, giving them a big start on the bend but motoring home over the last 200m to finish close-up behind Nearest To Pin. Given some time to get over that run and will appreciate the extra trip tomorrow. Goes very well at Flemington and improved many lengths second-up last prep carrying 60kg to victory over this course and distance. Incredible value at $11. MORPHETTVILLE: More Than Eagle (R2 No. 7 Trainer David Jolly) - is a Wolf Blass mare resuming for the first time since finishing 4th at MP on Jan 18. She has only had the 8 starts so far for 2 wins and 3 placings. One of those placings was a 3rd on a slow track so we cannot seriously vouch for her on anything worse but feel sure that her trainer will sum up the situation and chose wisely. If not tomorrow, then some other time. Ben Perkins
