ROSEHILL: Imperil (R5 No. 1 Trainer Peter Snowden) - trialled really well before his return to racing at WF on Oct 30 when he was $10 into $9 but sadly he found himself leading on the fence which on the day was a disadvantageous place to be. Perhaps he wasn't 100 percent fit as you would expect first-up but he kept to the task to finish 4th btn 2.2-lens. Next time out in a Bm75 at R'hill he finished 0.2-lens 2nd to rival Koroibete in a deep 1350m race. Sat just off the speed and was run down late in a driving finish by a good 3YO. Third-up now and still in a Bm 75, this time to 1500m, he can deliver.
Trackwork Specials RANDWICK: Spirit of Joy (Rosehill R2 No. 13) - Saturday, B Grass, 600m in 38.6. Girl in Flight (Caulfield R2 No. 2) - scored a soft win Sale last start, looks to have plenty of scope / upside, and stable in good form. Safeguard (Rosehill R7 No. 7) - is a 3YO out of different formline where worked home ok in listed grade Flemington last start, better suited with extra distance here. Magnifisio (Ascot R7 No. 7) - has turned in two good runs good this prep and caught late on fast pace last start, drops back in distance here. Barrier Trial Teaser Centre Pivot (Kembla Sunday R4 No. 7) - is a superbly bred More Than Ready colt out of Waterwise owned by Segenhoe and trained for them by John O'Shea. This striking 3YO has had 5 trials dating back to Oct 12, his last two (Nov 1 and Nov 21) were for O'Shea after the horse up a d moved from Graeme Rogeron's stable a few doors down on High Street at Randwick. Oozes quality and the trainer doesn't mind taking a good horse to Kembla. EARLY RAIN HAS CHANGED A FEW THINGS… EW OR PLACE BETS DOUBTFILLY AND RUDY ARE NOW LOOKING GOOD. RACE 1. WON HERE PREVIOUSLY OVER 1350 NO 2 TAIL AND ALL 7.50 GOES UP IN WEIGHT WHICH IS A HUGE WORRY AS IT WAS ONLY THE WEIGHT DROP THAT KICKED IN AND HELPED IT LAST TIME..BUT GETS A GOOD RUN HERE AGAIN. NO 4 JACK N ME 10.00 WILL GO FORWARDS AND JUST LOVES 1600 SHOULD GIVE A SIGHT IN A BAD LOOKING RACE. IS 21.00 CURRENTLY. 9 MR TESTA 8.50 RAN QUITE BOLDLY 1ST UP AT BIG ODDS AND WILL BE FURTHER IMPROVED..MAY NEED ONE MORE, BUT ALWAYS RATED HIM OK ON HIS DAY. 3 DIENEKES 10.00 WILL APPRECIATE THE SLOW TRACK…PLACE CHANCE AT ODDS 7-2-4-9…3 RACE 5. NO 2 LIESELE 4.00 RETURNS FROM MELB WHERE HER FROM WAS REALLY GOOD, WINNING TWO STARTS AGO AND THEN RUNNING WELL BEHIND DYSTOPIA, AND LIKES THE INCREASE IN TRIP. DOUBTFILLY 4.60 LOVES WET TRACKS, NOW LOOKS A REALLY GOOD PLACE BET AND SMALL EW... 2-3-1-9.----------------------------------4 SHAME IT RAINED, AS I TOOK THE 60-1 RACE 6. NO 3 INTO THE RED 5.00 WON LIKE A GOOD HORSE FIRST UP AND WAS TRUNDLED OFF TO SYDNEY WHERE WAS RIDDEN POORLY BUT LOOKED A FEW LENGTHS BELOW THEM IN REALITY. WORTH WATCHING HERE AS IF HORSE IS GOING TO DO THINGS AS A GOOD HORSE THIS IS A GOOD RACE TO START WITH. DID SMASH FRIENDLY DRAGON IN THAT 1ST UP RUN, SO FORM OK FROM THAT. STABLE STILL NOT FLYING AT PRESENT, BUT THEY ARE BRINGING OUT THEIR AMMO. FAILED AT ONLY SLLOW TRACK RUN…SO CHECK FOR TRACK IMPROVEMENT. NO 5 RUDY 4.00 WON 2ND UP AND DID RUN WELL 1ST UP. A GOOD RUN EXPECTED AND GETS A BETTER GATE HERE. 1ST 4 CERTAINTY YOU WOULD THINK. BUT IS LOOKING FOR 1600, AND REPORTS SUGGEST MAY BACK UP NEXT WEEK OVER 1600… ANY RAIN OR FLASH FLOODING WOULD BE VERY WELCOME INDEED. RAIN BRING HIM RIGHT INTO IT… ALSO WATCH CLOSELY FOR NEXT WEEK!
NO 6 MISSING PAGE 4.00 BLEW A LOT OF US OUT OF EVERYTHING WHEN WON EASILY OVER 1000 METERS. BUT HAS ALREADY WON OVER 1200, SO HAVE NO FEARS ABOUT THAT. MIGHT BE AN OK HORSE..WON 3 FROM 4…AND LOST TO SPLENDORA AND SHIRAZ ATTACK!! RIGHT IN THIS. NO 7 NEUSCHWANSTEIN… CRAZY HARD NAME , BUT 2 SLOW TRACK RUNS FOR A 1ST AND 2ND.. AND HEATHCOTE TRAINED.. 3-5-6-7. RACE 7. NO 2 FILLYDELPHIA 3.00 IS RIGHT BACK IN FORM! DISTANCE IS IDEAL AND GETS RUN OF RACE! HARD TO BEAT. Travelled okay to the turn then under pressure. Raced a bit greenly and had trouble getting through when she did pick up. Gained a late split and made a dive to miss narrowly. Promising first-up run at odds.''
- up to 1400m or so and if she runs up to that fresh effort she can go one better. First-Up FlyerMedusa's Miss (Kensington R7 No. 6) - went out the at `000' (all in Sydney/ Brisbane carnival races) but has come back well if her Nov 1 2nd in a 733m heat at R'wick is anything to go by. It's not only a good trial mind you, but we know that this mare can produce fresh given her sterling first-up record of 3s 1-20. I remember watching her win her debut at Kembla by 4.2-lens running 56.45s for the 1000m - oh, and she was $51!The daughter of Henny Hughes probably needs the track to head back into the good range but Kensington is prime surface and it doesn't seem like we'll get that much serious rain. In saying all of that, she was 3rd in the James HB Carr on dead. Barrier Trial TeaserAll Salsa (Goulburn Sunday R4 No. 11) - is the most superbly bred filly you coud imagine. Her sire is Charge Foward (aka the fastest colt in Golden Slipper history and like this filly, was trained by John O'Shea. All Salsa's name is a bit of a giveway; her 3rd dam is Salsabil who won the Irish Derby, English Oaks, French Oaks, One Thousand Guineas et al. All Salsa herself has looked classy beyond the norm in her 4 trials and has the plumb draw on debut for James McDonald.
