Koroibete (R6 No. 6) - is the early favourite to win the Derby and makes his return to racing in the same race as Triple Crown winner It's A Dundeel did 12 months ago. Okay, he's no It's A Dundeel but this field is nowhere near as strong as it was then of course. Gerald Ryan's near black galloper has a fabulous record of 6s 3-1-2 and is arguably unlucky not to have won both first-up/debut runs. Granted he has a long and ambitious campaign ahead of him timed to peak on Derby day but he is a quality horse ideally suited to 1400m first-up and we have taken close note of his Feb 18 trial, it was a pearler. Is in desperate need of a genuine tempo.
