BENDIGO: Trust In A Gust (R8 No. 1 Trainer Darren Weir) - is a winner, plain and simple, and it was pretty much only bad luck that beat him at Wangaratta on March 2. He does go back up to 59kg but the extra 100m is in his favour and I think that his main danger again is misfortune. Good horse, well drawn and hard to go past.
GOLD COAST: Trakstar (R2 No. 3 Trainer Tony Gollan) - has completed his elevation into the open staying ranks in the last month with consecutive victories at the two city tracks and he looks hard to go past for his hattrick tomorrow. Hit the line strongly to beat a handy Bm85 field over a mile at Doomben before stepping up to open grade and dispensing with a small and moderate field quite comfortably. The 2200m won't be a problem and at around even money he is a great bet.
OAKBANK: Hurricane Andy (R6 No. 4 Trainer John MacMillan) - Jamie Kah rides one for the boss here and it really ought to be winning. Hurricane Andy turned in two excellent efforts in his only starts back in Oct/ Nov at MP and M'ville over 1000m and 1050m. He had loads of natural pace and speed and that will help him overcome the quite awful barrier he has tomorrow (12). It's the only negative in an otherwise faultless set of credentials.
