ROSEHILL - Full Of Spirit (R6 No.1, trainer Peter Moody) has had three runs for Moody since being transferred across from NZ and has the foot on the till. Worked home nicely in the Hawkesbury Cup two runs back when beaten three and a half lengths by Leebaz, then hit the line strongly to run down all but Cameo in the Listed Scone Cup a fortnight ago. Crying out for this trip.
SANDOWN LAKESIDE - Lucky Generation (R1 No.2, trainer Danny O'Brien) looked every bit a 1400m horse when he debuted with a narrow defeat over 1200m two weeks ago. The winner just had a slightly better sprint early in the straight but he was closing with every stride. He’ll get plenty of time to balance up at Sandown and up in distance should take plenty of stopping.
MORPHETTVILLE - Six Foot (R7 No.5, trainer Tony McEvoy) didn’t have the best of luck late in the race when a game third at Sandown a few weeks back behind a horse that measured up in Melbourne last Saturday. Strong finishing winner twice at Balaklava before last start and with the inside alley, so long as he doesn’t get buried, he can atone.
BELMONT - Cool Trade (R6 No.6, trainer Alan Mathews) has been far too good for her own age and steps up to all comers after putting four wins on end, the latest with 60kg. Drops to 57kg and while she has drawn wide she is just all toughness and she'll be up on the pace anyway. If she gets across without too much trouble she'll win again.
